FAQs

To join our team as a NDIS Participant, you need to have an active NDIS Plan that includes funding for Support in Employment. Whether that be for Finding and Keeping a Job¸ or School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES).

You also need to have;

  • Capability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week,
  • A Tax File Number (TFN), and
  • A willingness to participate and achieve your goals in employment.

There’s a massive range of hands-on tasks completed by the Employees at our Enterprises, depending on what Enterprise you choose to join, you could be;

Working in a recycling and retail environment; supporting customers, accepting, sorting, and arranging donations, making deliveries, maintaining the shop floor, using tools and woodworking at Salvage & Save.

Part of the team that produces products that become part of the Australian food and goods chains. From operating machinery, hand packing goods, quality checking items, and more at Packaging Enterprises.

Working the sewing machine, crafting handmade products for local and national businesses, or handcrafting items to sell from our own shop at In-Stitches.

Going out in the community, providing garden services to residential and commercial customers across the Fleurieu Peninsula at Fleurieu Garden Services.

Or providing quality firewood to the community. From using tools and equipment, weighing and bagging various firewood products and supporting customers to fulfil orders at Fleurieu Firewood.

If it’s your first time participating in Employment Support, you’ll start on the base payrate at first (once your Work Experience period is concluded), but within the first few months of your official start date, you’ll be booked in for a wage assessment.

The wage assessment measures your payrate according to your current skills and capabilities in the workplace. From that point onwards, the more you grow your skills and capabilities, the more your rate of pay can increase during each wage assessment period.

If you already have an established payrate from another Employment Provider, we’ll honour that amount when you start at mobo.

Information specific to your employment salary will be given to you at your commencement.

On a fortnightly basis, we’ll co-ordinate claiming the funding as needed to provide the supports you require. The amount depends on the intensity and frequency of supports needed and is unique to every individual.

Whether you are self, plan or agency managed, as your employment provider we will coordinate with you or your representative to reserve and claim the funding your plan.

We update our NDIS funding arrangements annually, ensuring that you always get the best possible price for the services you need. You can find out more about NDIS Price Arrangements and Limits here.

That’s your decision! Everyone’s situation is different, so long as you can meet the minimum 12 hours per week, you can work as many days and hours as agreed upon during your commencement.

You can build up your hours or scale back as well (you must let us know your intentions prior to making changes though!)

Please note that while casuals do get an extra 25% on top of their base payrate (as well as superannuation), you’re only eligible for Paid Time Off (Annual / Personal / Carers / Compassionate leave) on Part-Time or Full-Time employment.

Yes, of course! If you have an occupational, speech therapist or other practitioner that can benefit you by visiting and working with you during your working hours, we welcome them!

Not only does having your practitioner visit you directly allow them to see you in your working environment, but communicating directly with your support practitioners also help us to be able to provide you with best possible support at work.

Yes, there is. For your first 6 months of employment with us, you’ll be under probation. The purpose of this period is for us, and for you to find out if you have the correct qualities to participate in Employment with us.

Of course we’ll consider the impacts of your disability, the skills you have capability to learn to ensure that you have the best possible chance of passing your probationary period.
